Apparently Michael Jackson converted to Islam recently.

The NST reported on 22 November 08 that:

Exactly one month ago, the National Fatwa Council made a decision against women who dressed like men, denouncing it as haram. This has been met with anger, protest, and mainly, confusion, as to what exactly it is that the fatwa condemns.

I saw a picture in The Telegraph published a day before that, showing Michael Jackson doing the opposite reverse. He was wearing a women’s clothing – the abaya – and was fully veiled. Well, the picture was taken in 2006, before his conversion. But what would happen to him if he entered Malaysia in the future fully veiled???

I forgot to put up a post about a policy roundtable I organised at the House of Lords on 21 July 08.

It was a while back but it was a good event, I think. It provided us with the opportunity to talk directly to Eric Pickles MP and Paul Goodman MP on various issues.
