But why is it that many Muslims prefer not to use their minds, and rely on the opinions of a select few instead?
Why voluntarily dispose the freedom to choose?
Why voluntarily discard the right to make decisions?
Why chain ourselves with rigid dogma?
Rousseau said "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains".

The difference between Rousseau and his likes and our philosophers, or rather more correctly , mutakallimin like al-Ghazali, is that Rousseau and company believe we are born totally free.
Which is wrong, and was why al-Ghazali opposed Ibn Rushd and Ibn Sina and was why he was nick-named Hujjatul Islam.
We are born only partially free. If you are really born totally free, raised up both of your feet and see if you can stay wavering above ground.
But nay, you cannot. Similarly your intellect.
You make the decision before you follow. Once you have a decision then follow it with certainty. You dont live forever, so if there is any cut shorts to be made, go for it!

If Islam really gives freedom to people why did Islam force the predominantly non-Arab Christian-majority Coptic-speaking and Syriac-speaking Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to convert to Islam, and hence “masuk Arab”.
Egypt is not an Arab State but merely Arabised. In Egypt, Muslim and Arab are synonyms, while Christian and Copt are synonyms.
In Iraq, before the 1,000 years Sunni apartheid regime was toppled in March 2003, Christians suffered apartheid under Arab rule. The so-called “Arab” Christians are NOT Arabs but Copts and Assyrians. Today, Iraqi Christians thank their brothers and sisters in America for liberating Iraq from Arab/Islamic tyranny and Syriac is one of the FOUR national languages, side-by-side Kurdish, Arabic and Turkish.
I demand Malaysia emulate Singapore and Iraq and re-write the 1957 Constitution to make Mandarin, Tamil, English and Bahasa Melayu as the FOUR official languages of the Federation. Chinese demand the end of special priveledges (hak istimewa) to Muslims.
We want SRJK Cina to use 100% Mandarin-medium just like in Singapore, where Mandarin is an official language. English or Esperanto can be used as a neutral language to facilitate communication among different cultures.
